5 Simple Activities for Kids

Parents like to have activity ideas ready for kids. Instead of thinking of activities to do with the kids clamouring for one around their knees it's smarter to have a few ideas ready in advance. Most kids have their own easily accessed stationery which includes glue, colors, scissors etc. If a parent has a ready source, it's then just a question of clearing up some space and getting them printouts of the activity. When you are a busy parent, such planning is very important.

Here are 5 simple activities for kids:

1. Print out a 1st grade worksheet from a well-known website.

2. Puzzle Coasters from Red Ted Art is a fun upcycling activit. There is a requirement for varnish, but this craft will look great without a coating.

3. Make a T-shirt headband. You'll need to organize for an old T-shirt.

4. Try this illusion activity when you are free to be involved. This actually opens up a world of interesting crafts to try.

5. Enjoy this 3d c raft. If the kids are very young, they might need some help with the cutting.

Some of these crafts might require some handholding depending on the age of the child. Occasionally if it's a play date or there's an older sibling, kids are quite capable of putting things together on their own.

Bonding with children over a craft activity is one of the best things to do. There's the pleasure of doing something together. Kids love the end result. The learning process can be wonderful to watch. It helps build confidence in little hands and minds. Most importantly that enthusiasm is infectious and you might actually end up making time and doing something more with the kids!
