Playing a prank can be fun. April Fool's Day is one day when everyone is expecting to be pranked on. But playing a prank on some other day can be fun too.

The idea of a prank is to lightly tease or make fun off, not hurt the other person. Here is a nice read on the psychology behind old April Fool pranking. 

Pranks from the yesteryears

People have played pranks from a long time. But many die a natural death as situations and technology changes. Here's one which might not work now:

Triing...tring...goes the land line. 

"Hello"

"Hey, is your refrigerator running?"

"Yes."

"Well, go catch it!"

This would not work now as most land lines have disappeared and people have been known to not answer their cellphones unless he number is known. 

Reversing trends

Sometimes it's good to turn the tables. We hear of kids playing pranks on adults, but sometimes it's good for grownups to return the favor to kids! No jokes. The pranks can be tailored for the kids they are being played on or they could be general ones which includes nature's critters like lizards and roaches made of synthetic materials of course. 

When kids are around, plenty of grownus rib them gently. Here's a nice video of parents playing pranks on kids. When done gently kids love the pranks played on them. The trick is to keep it fun and not scare them. Go ahead and play a prank!
